ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of its planned September 27 march on Islamabad, saying peaceful citizens are welcome to enter the capital through any route, but those engaging in unlawful or violent acts will face action.
“If you are peaceful citizens, come to Islamabad from any route, but if you come as terrorists, you will not be allowed to return,” Talal Chaudhry said.
The minister said the government would fully implement the Islamabad High Court’s orders and would not tolerate any unlawful activity during the protest.
His remarks came after PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar said the party would approach Islamabad through multiple routes, including the motorway, GT Road, the Margalla hills and Dera Ismail Khan.
The Islamabad High Court has ruled that no political party or leader has the lawful right to occupy public roads, highways, interchanges, toll plazas or other public places in a manner that obstructs citizens’ movement.
