PESHAWAR : The World Health Organization (WHO), under its Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) Program, has announced transfers and new postings of District Polio Officers (DPOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dr. Arshad Faheem and Dr. Amina have been posted to Abbottabad, while Dr. Nauman Khalid has been posted to Mardan. Dr. Junaid, Dr. Faiz and Dr. Ejaz have been posted to Peshawar.
To mark the occasion, the UCPOs of Peshawar arranged a farewell ceremony for the outgoing officers and a welcome reception for the newly posted DPOs at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar. A large number of UCPOs attended the gathering.
During the ceremony, participants shared their views and recalled their experiences of working together. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arshad Faheem said his time in Peshawar would always remain memorable.
He said, “Working in Peshawar is no less than a challenge; however, all of you staff members supported me wholeheartedly and made these challenges easier.”
The participants appreciated the services of the departing officers and expressed their best wishes for their future assignments. The newly posted DPOs were warmly welcomed, with colleagues expressing hope for continued teamwork and effective efforts toward polio eradication.
