“ Spoogmay Pa Aaina Ky ”
(Moon in the Mirror) is the eleventh poetic collection of Professor Ali Khel Daryab Chairman Department of Pashto University of Malakand, a distinguished voice in contemporary Pashto literature. This collection reflects the intellectual depth, artistic maturity, and progressive vision of the poet, presenting poetry that resonates strongly with the realities and challenges of the modern age.

The poetry in this volume explore the emerging trends of contemporary literature and address themes that are deeply connected with the demands of the new era. Professor Daryab has skillfully highlighted the younger generation’s declining interest in knowledge and learning, the growing moral and cultural crisis, the socio-economic hardships of the Pashtun society, and the gradual erosion of traditional values and collective identity. His poetry not only portrays pain and disillusionment but also awakens consciousness, reflection, and hope.

The language is rich and expressive, while the thoughts are profound, symbolic, and socially relevant. The poet’s command over imagery, rhythm, and philosophical insight makes this collection an important contribution to modern Pashto poetry.

The book gains further literary significance through the valuable contributions of renowned revolutionary poet Rahmat Shah Sail, who has written its thoughtful preface, and Dr. Ismail Gohar, who has presented a comprehensive critical review of the work. The flap has been written by Professor Dr. Humayun Huma, adding further scholarly prestige to the publication.
