TIMES REPORT
ISLAMABAD: Freedom Gate Prosperity has formally submitted a set of policy recommendations to the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, urging the further expansion of digital citizen services to make police facilitation more accessible, transparent, and efficient.
The organization appreciated the efforts of Islamabad Police in modernizing policing and introducing technology-driven public services. It noted that Islamabad Police has taken important steps towards digital transformation and has established Facilitation Centres that provide a range of services to the public.
Drawing on recent interactions with the Facilitation Centre, Freedom Gate Prosperity observed that some services still require citizens to appear in person despite the availability of secure digital technologies. The organization suggested that these services could gradually be shifted to an integrated online platform while maintaining all necessary legal and security safeguards.
Among the services recommended for enhanced digital access are Tenant Registration, Character Certificates, General Police Verification, Servant Registration, Foreigner Registration, Lost Report Registration, Vehicle Verification, requests for copies of FIRs, and other public services currently provided through Police Facilitation Centres.
Freedom Gate Prosperity also proposed introducing a comprehensive Digital Citizen Services Portal that enables applicants to submit documents online, verify their identity through approved digital authentication systems, make secure online payments, receive electronic payment receipts, track application status via SMS and email notifications, and download digitally signed certificates and verification documents. Physical visits could be limited only to those services where they are legally or operationally required.
Commenting on the proposal, Muhammad Anwar, Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Gate Prosperity, said:
“Pakistan is making significant progress towards digital governance. Expanding online public services within the Islamabad Police would save citizens valuable time, enhance transparency, improve administrative efficiency, and further strengthen public confidence in government institutions. This is an opportunity to build on the excellent work already undertaken by Islamabad Police in serving the people of the Federal Capital.”
He added that citizen-centric digital services contribute to good governance, reduce administrative burdens, and support the Government of Pakistan’s vision of Digital Pakistan and public sector modernization.
Freedom Gate Prosperity expressed its willingness to contribute ideas and participate in future consultations on digital governance and institutional innovation, reaffirming its commitment to supporting practical reforms that improve public service delivery across Pakistan.
