DG ISPR Highlights Afghan Refugees, Indian Terrorism, & Regional Security in German Media Interview

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive interview with a German magazine, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) discussed Pakistan’s policies on Afghan refugees, terrorism, and regional security issues.

DG ISPR stated that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees for over 40 years and has taken very organized measures for their dignified return. The country has repeatedly extended the deadline for humanitarian evacuation, despite authentic evidence that illegal Afghan nationals are involved in terrorism and serious crimes. He stressed that the original reasons for Afghan displacement—foreign intervention and civil war—no longer exist.

Addressing regional security, DG ISPR criticized India’s extremist policies, linking them to rising violent incidents within the country. He said India presents internal issues as external, while also sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan. Evidence of active Indian military officers’ involvement in terrorist activities has been shared repeatedly with the international community.

DG ISPR further highlighted that Pakistan rejects all non-state actors and armed groups indiscriminately. He affirmed that no group or individual other than the state has the authority to declare jihad. Pakistan has played the role of a frontline state in the war against terrorism, making enormous sacrifices.

He noted that weapons left behind after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan are now being used in terrorist activities, with even Washington expressing concern over this development.

Commenting on broader geopolitics, DG ISPR underlined Pakistan’s constructive and strategic relations with China and recalled US President Trump’s role as a strategic leader during Pakistan-India tensions and the “Battle of Right.” He also welcomed the US designation of the banned Majid Brigade as a global terrorist organization.

DG ISPR urged the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute, stressing that Indian state institutions, including the army, are influenced by extremist political ideologies. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism and regional stability.
