KARACHI: President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Mohammad Ahmed Shah, shared his reflections in an exclusive interview following the grand opening of the 39-day World Culture Festival 2025, which features performers and artists from 142 countries around the globe.
Speaking after the inauguration ceremony, Ahmed Shah expressed pride and gratitude for the overwhelming international participation, calling the event a symbol of peace, diversity, and cultural unity.
“The World Culture Festival is not just a celebration of art — it is a message of love, peace, and understanding among nations. This year’s participation from 142 countries shows the power of culture in bringing humanity together,” he said.
He further stated that the festival’s success reflects Pakistan’s growing role as a hub of global cultural exchange, crediting the Government of Sindh and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for their continuous support in promoting arts and culture.
“Under the themes of Peace and Environment, this festival allows artists from every continent to connect, perform, and share their stories. It’s a tribute to human creativity and compassion,” Ahmed Shah added.
He also lauded the tireless efforts of his team and the Arts Council’s management in organizing the large-scale event, which will continue until December 7, featuring musical performances, dance, theatre, visual arts, and film screenings.
The World Culture Festival 2025 stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Karachi — a city that continues to open its heart to the world through art, culture, and dialogue.
