SWAT: A grand Iftar dinner and Eid gift distribution ceremony was organized by the Pakistan Journalists Association at the spacious Gaman Pul in Barikot, Swat. The event was held in honor of distinguished members and witnessed a large gathering of office bearers and journalists, reflecting unity and strong mutual relations within the journalistic community.
Provincial President Sohail Bacha, Dr. Zakir Muhammad, Asadullah Asad, senior journalists Ghafoor Khan Adil, Salman Yousafzai, Humayun Waqar Shaheen, Ali Sher Mian, Lal Sher Khan, Salahuddin, Abdullah, Hussain, Nader Khan, Muhammad Hilal, Syed Aizaz Shah Bacha, Nisar Bacha, Bacha Hussain Khattak and other members attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, Eid gifts were distributed among members, while a certificate of recognition was presented to senior journalist Ghafoor Khan Adil in acknowledgment of his professional services.
Addressing the gathering, Provincial President Sohail Bacha stated that journalism is a sacred profession and emphasized that unity and solidarity among journalists are the need of the hour in the current circumstances. He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Journalists Association will continue to play an active role in safeguarding the rights and welfare of journalists.
Dr. Zakir Muhammad and Asadullah Asad highlighted that the purpose of organizational activities is not only to bring journalists onto a single platform but also to promote collective efforts for resolving their professional issues.
Salman Yousafzai, Bacha Hussain Khattak, Samad Anjum, Ghafoor Khan Adil, Syed Aizaz Shah Bacha, Nader Khan, and Muhammad Bilal also addressed the ceremony. Senior journalist Ghafoor Khan Adil stressed the urgent need for consensus and unity among journalists in Swat to effectively tackle existing challenges. He expressed determination that the journalist community would continue to contribute to regional development while upholding professional principles and mutual cooperation.
The ceremony concluded in a pleasant atmosphere, with participants expressing hope that such initiatives would further strengthen bonds within the journalist fraternity in the future.
