PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated an Anti-Corruption Desk at the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell to facilitate the reporting and registration of corruption-related complaints. Through this initiative, citizens will now be able to directly lodge complaints pertaining to corruption and maladministration with the Chief Minister’s Office. A dedicated helpline, 091-9222451, has been established for the registration of corruption-related complaints. Citizens can use this number to report evidences of administrative or financial irregularities. In addition, a dedicated complaint desk has also been established for residents of Zamung Kor and government-run Panah Gahs to ensure that vulnerable and underserved segments of society have access to an effective platform for the registration and resolution of their grievances. During his visit to the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the Chief Minister directly interacted with citizens, listened to their complaints, and received feedback regarding the resolution of previously submitted complaints. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi stated that he had made a commitment to the people that every genuine grievance would be addressed and that the government was now translating that commitment into practical action. He emphasized that every citizen who reports administrative or financial irregularities would find the Chief Minister standing firmly by their side. He urged the public to come forward and register complaints, assuring them that the government would ensure prompt and effective action on all credible reports. The Chief Minister further noted that, in line with the vision of Imran Khan, the CM Complaint Cell is being further strengthened and modernized. Citizens will be able to submit complaints through multiple channels, including WhatsApp, email, Facebook, and X, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience. He added that every citizen with access to a mobile phone would be able to register complaints directly through these platforms. Muhammad Sohail Afridi reiterated his personal commitment to overseeing the complaint redressal mechanism and monitoring the resolution of public grievances. He added that the government would not allow citizens to lose their confidence in public institutions and would not tolerate injustice in any form. Every complaint, he said, would be treated as a matter of personal responsibility and addressed with utmost seriousness. He emphasized that public welfare remains the government’s foremost priority and guiding principle. Policies and decisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added, will continue to be driven by the public interest, with the welfare of citizens and public trust serving as the central considerations in governance. Later, the Chief Minister directed the Complaint Cell staff to maintain a courteous and citizen-centric approach in dealing with complainants and to ensure the timely and effective resolution of all complaints.
