MARDAN: The second National Festival of Ideas, Art and Innovation organized by the Provost’s Office of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan concluded successfully. Various competitions were held for three days, in which students from all over the country participated enthusiastically. These competitions were organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Office Peshawar.
The special guest of the closing ceremony was Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmed, while Deputy Director Zubair Khattak, Provost Abdul Samad Khan, Deputy Provost Syed Kazim Ali Shah, Additional Director QEC Abrar Hussain Omarzai, Director Sports Dr. Farooq Hussain, Principal Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts Prof. Fazal Sattar Durrani and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Eight different competitions were held during the festival, which were organized in collaboration with the Youth Office Mardan. More than 600 artists from 73 universities across Pakistan participated in these competitions, highlighting the national importance of the event.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmed distributed prizes among the successful students. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he was very happy that students from all four provinces participated in these competitions. He said that extracurricular activities are also an important part of education and such events play an important role in enhancing the creative abilities of students.
He further said that Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan is among the top 10 among 276 universities in Pakistan, which is a testament to the educational and research quality of the institution. The Vice Chancellor also announced that a modern incubation center and an auditorium with a capacity of 1,000 students will soon be inaugurated in the university, which will prove to be an important milestone in the promotion of educational and co-curricular activities.
