The second day of the second round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I First-Class Cricket Tournament witnessed an impressive display of batting across all four matches. Ramiz Aziz and Mohammad Tahha scored outstanding centuries, while Salman Khan Jr. produced a superb 182-run innings to put his team in a strong position.
OGDCL take 83-run first-innings lead in Peshawar
At the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar, OGDCL were bowled out for 298 in their first innings against Kingsmen Academy, with half-centuries from Danish Aziz and Rohail Nazir helping their side post a competitive total.
OGDCL secured an 83-run first-innings lead over Kingsmen Academy.
Mohammad Ilyas was the leading wicket-taker for Kingsmen Academy with four wickets, while Salman Ali Agha and Mehran Mumtaz claimed two wickets apiece.
In reply, Kingsmen Academy reached 35 without loss in nine overs by the close of play. Mohammad Huraira and Mohammad Arshad were at the crease.
Ghani secure 257-run first-innings lead in Islamabad
At the Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad, Ghani secured a massive 257-run first-innings lead over SNGPL.
In their second innings, SNGPL showed resistance and reached 106 for two at stumps. Sameer Minhas led the recovery with a composed unbeaten 67.
Salman Khan Jr. hits 182 as MIT Solutions post 660
At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, MIT Solutions posted a massive 660 in their first innings, powered by a magnificent 182 from Salman Khan Jr.
KRL’s Ahmed Bashir was the pick of the bowlers, taking five wickets in 21.1 overs.
In reply to MIT Solutions’ huge total, KRL reached 140 for three by the close of play. The KRL batters will have the task of reducing the first-innings deficit when play resumes on the third day.
Ramiz Aziz scores century as State Bank make 433
At Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, State Bank resumed their first innings at 278 for eight and went on to score 433 before being bowled out.
Ramiz Aziz led the charge with an excellent 120, while Naqibullah contributed 74. The pair added a valuable 181-run partnership to strengthen State Bank’s total.
For PTV, Imad Butt claimed four wickets, while Musa Khan took three.
In reply, PTV reached 268 for three by the close of play. Mohammad Tahha produced a superb batting performance, scoring an unbeaten century to put PTV in a strong position heading into the third day.
