Karachi: Like many other sectors of life, women are now actively serving in rescue and emergency services, proving that determination and courage can overcome every barrier. Female rescuers are a remarkable example of how commitment and dedication enable individuals to perform even the most challenging tasks in difficult circumstances.
Whether it is firefighting, handling emergency calls at the call center, operating ambulance services or responding to emergency situations on the ground, female rescuers remain fully prepared at all times. Working in uniform alongside their male colleagues, they perform their duties with professionalism, discipline and confidence, demonstrating that such demanding jobs are not limited to one gender.
Emergency Officer Operations Dr. Yusra Ali stated that currently more than 90 female rescuers are serving in Sindh Rescue 1122. These women are not only deployed in Karachi but are also performing their duties in several other districts of Sindh.
Sharing her journey as a female rescuer, Dr. Yusra Ali explained that the job is undoubtedly challenging and requires strong commitment. However, with proper training, discipline and command, rescuers learn to respond confidently to any emergency situation without fear.
She further highlighted that in cases involving medical emergencies or female victims, female rescuers play an especially important role in handling the situation professionally and sensitively. While ground situations can sometimes be critical and demanding, female rescuers remain determined and ready to assist people in need.
Dr. Yusra Ali also emphasized the importance of family support in helping women pursue challenging careers. She noted that encouragement from families plays a vital role in the professional growth of women. She also urged more young women to step forward and join services.
