Federal Minister Amir Muqam Distributes Relief Cheques Among Flood Victims

SHANGLA: On the special directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam visited Shangla district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and distributed relief cheques among the families of 36 people who lost their lives in the recent floods.

Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam said that the people would not be left alone in this difficult time. “This task is above politics; we have come out to serve the people for the sake of Allah’s will,” he said.

The minister stated that immediately after the floods, he personally visited the affected districts, met with victims, and raised their concerns before the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet. According to him, the Prime Minister directed all federal institutions to immediately participate in relief efforts.

Amir Muqam said that electricity and road connections in the affected areas were restored as a first priority, while the federal government also provided ration, tents, blankets, medicines, and other essential items. He added that the process of distributing relief cheques to the families of those who died in the floods is ongoing and the support will continue until the victims are fully rehabilitated.

He further stated that the Pakistan Army, federal institutions, and citizens played a commendable role in assisting the victims. “The Army is also taking active part in the relief operations,” he said. On this occasion, Amir Muqam also mentioned Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to Buner, during which he expressed solidarity with the victims.

Amir Muqam emphasized that the federal government, in coordination with the provincial government, is overseeing rehabilitation efforts and no one will be left alone in this calamity.
