Historic MoU Signed Between Akbar Kare Institute and KMU

PESHAWAR: A new chapter of hope has begun for children with disabilities as Akbar Kare Institute achieves another major milestone. Established in 2005 in Peshawar, the institute provides completely free treatment, rehabilitation, and specialized care for children with cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. In a significant development, the institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Khyber Medical University (KMU) to offer clinical placements and practical learning opportunities to university students.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by officials from Akbar Kare and KMU, along with doctors, faculty members, and students. Speakers at the event described this partnership as “the beginning of a new era.” They emphasized that the agreement will not only provide medical students with valuable hands-on clinical experience but will also strengthen the overall system of care for children with disabilities.

For the past two decades, Akbar Kare Institute has been providing thousands of children with advanced physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and medical care — free of cost. The institute has become a beacon of hope, empowering children and their families with courage, support, and new possibilities.

The partnership between KMU and Akbar Kare marks a historic step forward in the field of child rehabilitation and is expected to positively impact countless lives in the years to come.
