PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has directed that the printing process of more than 117,000 pending driving license cards across the province be completed within one month. Following the Chief Minister’s directives, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department has notified a district-wise schedule for the printing and delivery of driving license cards in accordance with the stipulated timelines. According to the issued schedule, the printing of driving license cards in Hazara Division will be completed in the first week of January 2026, while in Malakand Division, the pending driving license cards of Swat, Dir and Buner will be delivered to citizens by mid-January 2026. Similarly, the delivery of driving license cards in Peshawar Division has been targeted to be completed between January 23 and January 26, 2026, whereas in Kohat Division the process is expected to be completed by January 29, 2026. Citizens of Bannu, Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan Division will receive their driving license cards by January 30, 2026.
The Chief Minister has directed the relevant departments to utilize all available resources to resolve the difficulties faced by citizens and to ensure that driving license cards pending for years reach the public within the stipulated timeframe. The Chief Minister emphasized that practical measures are essential for improving administrative performance and restoring public trust, adding that the provincial government will not compromise on its commitment to providing facilitation and relief to the people under any circumstances. The Chief Minister has made it clear that the timely and effective provision of public services is a top priority of the present provincial government, and that any negligence or lapse in this regard will not be tolerated.
