Peshawar:- Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia Center Peshawar KP, a leading non-profit organization, today announced that it has provided over 229463 blood/Products (Fresh Frozen Plasma , Platelets) bags to more than 1,554 registered patients of registered Thalassemia, Hemophilia patients and poor/deserving patients of different Government and Private Hospitals, marking a significant milestone in its 20-years journey of delivering life-saving care to thalassemia and hemophilia patients.
Since its inception in 2006, Hamza Foundation has been dedicated to providing free medical facilities, welfare, and social activities to patients affected by thalassemia and hemophilia. The organization through its state-of-the-art machinery and equipment ensure safe blood transfusions and screenings for the poor and needy Patients. After complete blood screening of Blood through Elisa fully automatic equipments, 3152 donors were deducted of Hepatitis B, 1114 were Hepatitis C, 153 were HIV/Aids , 638 were VDRL and 63 were deducted as Malarial parasite.
In addition to providing medical care, Hamza Foundation is also working to prevent the spread of thalassemia. The organization has conducted 446 CVS tests( during Pregnancy )for women from thalassemia-affected families, in line with the fatwa of renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani, aborted 128 deducted Thalassemia major cases. By promoting pre-marital thalassemia testing, Hamza Foundation aims to reduce the incidence of this genetic disorder.
Hamza Foundation Chairman Ijaz Ali Khan emphasized the need for collective action to eliminate thalassemia. “We urge the government, philanthropist, and the general public to support us in this critical mission,” Khan said. “Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for thalassemia patients and their families.”
