Pakistan Full Contact Karate Federation Secures Historic WFKO Japan Affiliation

TIMES REPORT

PESHAWAR: A major milestone has been achieved in Pakistan’s Kyokushin karate scene as the Pakistan Full Contact Karate Federation has officially been granted affiliation by the World Full Contact Karate Organization (WFKO) Japan.

WFKO Japan is regarded as one of the most unified and influential full contact karate bodies globally, with member organizations across numerous countries. The affiliation follows an international initiative by WFKO, in line with IOC directives, inviting full contact karate bodies worldwide to join its platform.

President of the Pakistan Full Contact Karate Federation (Shin Kyokushin Kai), Shihan Muhammad Arshad Jan—also serving as Board Member Asia—submitted the affiliation request, which was approved after a detailed review by the WFKO affiliation committee. An official affiliation letter has now been issued.

In a joint statement, General Secretary Shihan Sahibzada Al Hadi, along with Branch Chiefs Farhad Shinwari, Muhammad Adil, Ishtiaq Mughal, and Qambar Abbas, termed the development a “historic achievement for Pakistan’s Kyokushin community,” crediting the leadership and efforts of Shihan Muhammad Arshad Jan.

They further announced that an important meeting of the federation’s Board Members will be held in May at the Lahore headquarters to discuss inclusion of other Kyokushin groups and to finalize future strategies.

The affiliation is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s international presence in full contact karate and open new opportunities for athletes nationwide.
